The same day I was at the Baltic I came across this chair.I would love to know who the designer was.The reason why I like it, is the attention to detailing on the legs and its free flowing design.

Baltic Exhibition- George Shaw

17th march I viewed an exhibtion at the Baltic. one that sparked the most interest was painter George Shaw. He paints landscapes of his teenage years selecting scenes of the everyday from within a half mile radius of his childhood home.

Noticable with his painting are that they always devoid of people composed almost exclusively using straight on views at eye level. His paintings capture alot of emotions and draws the viewer in.

Designs

An interesting site to follow. I found some really unique designs. Their web site hold competions a great way in getting your name out there.

Here are some pictures of lights that I thought looked really cool.

One True Voice

International water feature specialist Crystal has joined forces with contemporary artist, Jaume Plensa to create an art installation for the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai, which is over 800 metres tall. The sculpture called World Voices uses 196 cymbals to represent the 196 countries of the world and symbolises the Burj Khalifa being a collaboration of people from across the globe. 'The residential lobby area is a meeting place of diverse cultures and nationalities - a metaphor of the diversity of our global society.' Explains artist, Jaume Plensa. 'World Voices is a homage to this diversity and a celebration of life.'

Cast in bronze and brass alloy and plated with 18-carat gold, the cymbals are horizontally suspended on titanium rods anchored at the bottom of two pools, symbolising reeds in a lake.

abstract

An interesting design using wooden flooring on the ceiling, its creates an abstract illusion. At first glimpse the room looks as if its upside down further enhance by the stairs on the left hand side.
